Meet Lauren Milligan
OWNER, PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Lauren Milligan leads the Backdrop team with an absolute dedication to enhancing clients' lives through great design. A Connecticut native, Lauren studied at the University of New Hampshire prior to pursuing formal design education in interior architecture at the Academy of Art University. She began her career at the Boston Design Center before moving to New Hampshire and founding her own design studio in 2010. In the time since, Lauren has worked on countless projects throughout New England and built a team of likeminded professionals. Her work is best described as an elevated celebration of everyday life—thoughtful, approachable, and designed for authentic living.
Meet Sarah Powers
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Sarah graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration focusing on Economics. Early in her career, she worked to establish and grow businesses and continued to work within the design space after college. After relocating to the Lake’s Region a few years ago, Sarah joined the team at Backdrop Interior Design to pursue her love of design full time and work to contribute to the brand’s business development. Her favorite part of designing is growing personal relationships with clients to curate meaningful and livable spaces catered to their preferences. At the office, you will find her drafting, focusing on space management and creating personalized finishes for clients. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, walks and enjoying the seasonal offerings New England provides.
Meet Meagan Miller
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Meagan graduated from Newbury College with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design. She has spent much of her design career specializing in kitchen and bath design. Meagan joined the Backdrop Interior Design team to expand her knowledge of whole home interior design and space planning. Her favorite part of being an interior designer is working with homeowners and building genuine rapport. You can find her out at measures, designing at her desk or selecting materials for homeowners. When she isn’t designing, she spends her time with her family and dogs, on the soccer sidelines or enjoying the great outdoors.
Jazlyn Perkins
DESIGN ASSISTANT

Jazlyn is a recent graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. In her current role, Jazlyn supports the design team by creating detailed selection pages for clients coordinating materials and fixtures, assisting with floor plan edits, supporting the budgeting process for projects, and helping to curate the studio’s sample library. When not at work, Jazlyn enjoys beach days, skiing, and hanging out with friends and family.
Meet Alicia Sperazzo
OFFICE MANAGER

Alicia, a Rhode Island native and graduate of the University of Rhode Island, lives in beautiful Gilford with her husband and their three children. After several years of experience in an office setting, she now works for Backdrop, where she helps manage day-to-day operations including order management, inventory and client storage, updating office samples, securing and maintaining trade accounts, and billing. Outside of work, Alicia enjoys spending time outdoors hiking the local trails, relaxing on Lake Winnipesaukee during the summer, and hitting the slopes with her family in the winter.
